MWOS Registration Guide Zimbabwe: Sign Up Step by Step

Creating an MWOS account takes a few minutes and costs nothing. The registration itself is straightforward — what matters is getting three decisions right at sign-up that are difficult or impossible to change afterwards, and setting up two things before you make your first deposit that will save you a support conversation later. This guide covers all of it.

What You Need Before You Start

Have these to hand before you open the registration page, because the form won’t let you go back and change certain fields:

Your Zimbabwean mobile number — this becomes your account identifier. It must be a real number you control, because MWOS sends an SMS verification code to it during registration and uses it for security going forward. Changing it later requires contacting support.

Your national ID number — entered during registration and checked at verification. Use the number exactly as it appears on your ID card. A mistyped digit won’t stop you registering, but it will stop you withdrawing later when verification fails.

A decision on currency — USD, ZWL or ZAR. This is the one that catches people. Your currency is set at registration and cannot easily be changed afterwards. If you earn in USD and bet in USD, choose USD. If you deposit via EcoCash in ZWL, choose accordingly. Getting this wrong means either living with an inconvenient currency or starting again with a new account.

The Registration Steps

Go to betting.co.zw and tap the red “Join” button in the top right corner. The registration form asks for your mobile number, first name, last name, national ID number, date of birth, preferred password, and preferred currency. If you have a promotional code, there’s a field for it.

Tick the confirmation that you’re 18 or older and that you accept the terms and conditions. Then tap “Register.”

You’ll receive an SMS with a verification code. Enter it to confirm your phone number. That’s it — your account is live.

The Three Things You Can’t Easily Change

Your mobile number is your account. MWOS ties accounts to phone numbers, and changing it later isn’t a setting you toggle — it’s a support request that may require re-verification. Register with the number you intend to keep.

Your currency is locked at registration. There’s no currency-switch option in the account settings. If you chose ZWL and want USD, you’re looking at a conversation with support that may or may not resolve in your favour. Decide before you register, not after your first deposit.

Your national ID number is used for verification. If it doesn’t match your actual ID document, you won’t pass KYC when you try to withdraw. Double-check the number before submitting the form. Correcting it afterwards is possible but slow.

What to Do Immediately After Registering

Before you deposit anything, do two things that will prevent the most common problems new MWOS users run into.

First, complete your profile. Log in, go to your account settings, and make sure every field is filled in accurately — full name as it appears on your ID, correct date of birth, correct address. Verification checks this against your ID document, and mismatches cause delays on withdrawals.

Second, save your login details securely. Your username is your mobile number and your password is what you set during registration. If you lose the password, the reset process sends a code to your registered mobile number — which is fine as long as you still have access to that number. If you’ve since changed SIM cards or numbers, you have a problem that starts with a support email and ends with proving your identity.

Setting Up Your Deposit Method

MWOS accepts deposits through physical shops (cash, code-based) and through EcoCash and InnBucks on the app and mobile site. Set up your preferred method before you need it rather than when you’re trying to place a bet.

If you’ll deposit via EcoCash, make sure the EcoCash number matches the mobile number on your MWOS account. A mismatch between your MWOS account number and your EcoCash number can cause deposit failures or, worse, withdrawal rejections. For the full deposit walkthrough, see our MWOS deposit and withdrawal guide.

If you’ll deposit via a shop, locate your nearest branch in advance. You’ll hand over cash, receive a deposit code, then log in to your MWOS account, select “Shop” as the payment method, and enter the code. The code has a validity window — don’t wait days before entering it. See our MWOS branches guide for locations across the country.

Understanding the Welcome Bonus Before You Claim It

MWOS offers a 100% deposit match bonus. Before you deposit with the expectation of doubling your money, understand the terms: the bonus must be wagered 5 times on accumulator bets with a minimum of 3 selections at odds of 1.40 or better per leg. That means a Z$1,000 bonus requires Z$5,000 in qualifying accumulator bets before any of it becomes withdrawable.

If you bet accumulators anyway, this is genuine value. If you bet singles, it won’t convert and it’ll sit in your bonus balance looking useful while being inaccessible. For the full bonus breakdown with worked examples, see MWOS bonuses explained.

Downloading the App

The MWOS app is available for Android only — download the APK from the MWOS website, not from the Play Store. You’ll need to enable “Install from unknown sources” in your Android settings. There is no iOS app; iPhone users use the mobile website at betting.co.zw, which covers the same features.

For the download link, installation steps and troubleshooting, see our MWOS app download guide.

Common Registration Problems and Fixes

“I didn’t receive the SMS code.” Wait a full minute, then request a resend. If it still doesn’t arrive, check that the mobile number you entered is correct and that your phone has signal. MWOS sends via standard SMS, so a data connection isn’t required but network coverage is.

“I registered with the wrong currency.” Contact support at support@betting.co.zw or via WhatsApp as soon as possible. The earlier you raise it, the easier it is to resolve — once you’ve deposited and bet in the wrong currency, unwinding it becomes considerably more complicated.

“I can’t remember my password.” Go to the login page, tap “Forgot Password,” choose phone or email recovery, enter the code sent to you, and set a new password. This only works if you still have access to the registered phone number.

“My ID number was rejected.” Make sure you’re entering your national ID number exactly as printed — including any letters or leading characters. If you’re using a passport number instead, confirm MWOS accepts it for your account type. Registration accepts the number but verification checks it against your actual document later.

What Happens Next

Once registered, verified and funded, you can bet on any sport MWOS covers, access virtual games and the live casino, and claim the ongoing promotions — Super Selection Bonus on winning accumulators and Refund Stake Bonus on near-miss accumulators. Both apply automatically to qualifying bets.
